A few Masks!

Since the middle of March, Prescott Indivisible has been an integral part of the community response to the various needs of those whose lives have been impacted by COVID-19.

In addition to organizing a fundraiser for the Coalition of Compassion and Justice’s outreach program to provide meals for those in their shelter, they have been volunteering and donating to many organizations in Prescott and beyond.

As a result of a communication from Tricia Sauer, the Indivisible Senior Regional Organizing Manager for Arizona, Utah and Nevada, Prescott Indivisible reached out to our community, working with other organizations, such as the Democratic Women of the Prescott Area, to donate sheeting material and masks to White  Mountains Indivisible and the Navajo County Democrats.

Prescott Indivisible was able to assist in honoring our relationships with the members of the Sovereign Nations.  The Diné and White Mountain Apache are facing unprecedented challenges and we are part of the unprecedented response of generosity and kindness from Arizona’s progressive community.

We have made two deliveries to Missa Foy-Jentof, the organizer for both White Mtns. Indivisible and Navajo Co. Dems consisting of a total of 25 sheets, over 250 masks and 60 face shields. Another delivery will be ready next week. Prescott Indivisible also donated a number of face shields and masks to Hopi of Upper Moenkoepi and Lower Moenkoepi.

Foy-Jentof expressed her appreciation to Prescott Indivisible and all the Arizona Indivisible and Democratic groups who are supporting this effort. “I can’t begin to express my gratitude to you who are generously helping in this tremendous effort.”

In addition to distributing goods to the Nation, Foy-Jentof has created phone trees for her volunteers–they call the elders as often as possible to check on them, give them updates, etc. Their ‘social work’ now will pay dividends when the same folks are called on to vote.
