On December 6, the attached CD 0074 Map with suggested changes to CD2 and CD9 was submitted and approved for filing. It is attached.
You will note changes have been made to move the eastern part of the county to CD9 and expand CD2 into Mojave County.
We must make the Commissioners aware of this map and ask for them to consider it when they discuss our region.
We now have the opportunity to reach out to the IRC in three ways:
1. Email the Commissioners – In a meeting this morning, I was informed that citizens are reaching out to the commissioners directly. The addresses to the commissioners are an the email (see below) sent earlier today. It contains the reasons why they should consider CD 0074 as submitted.
2. Submit comments supporting CD 0074 to Contact Us – https://irc.az.gov/contact-us
3. During tomorrow’s IRC meeting (https://youtu.be/92fnPmAjDMc) , submit a statement using this link: https://forms.gle/71NAWFnvaSayvdtk7
You all have been given talking points on why Yavapai Co. should be split. Please come up with your own statement.
Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter.
In a few days you will receive a similar request re a revised LD map.

Commissioners:
It has come to my attention that others are reaching out directly to contact you re making the final map decisions, so I am doing the same.
Attached is CD0074 as submitted on 120421.
CD 0074 makes Congressional District 2 competitive. Central Yavapai and Wickenburg have been moved to Mojave County, creating a more compact D9.
CD2 now keeps Apache and Navajo counties whole and satisfies many of the state’s Native Tribes and also makes CD6 more compact.
This draft map merits discussion.
It has been sent individually to all the IRC Commissioners. I look forward to have this entered into the discussion when you review Northern Arizona.
Thank you for all your efforts on our behalf to provide AZ with fair and competitive maps.
