Keep Prescott Together is a newly formed collective dedicated to creating capacity for deportation defense within the greater Prescott area. The vision we hold is that through weekly legal clinics and campaigns based on the needs and issues most present for affected community members, we can actively fight unjust immigration laws and provide support systems for folks who are affected by them.
Margo Cowan, co-founder of No More Deaths and Keep Tucson Together, has agreed to support us in forming this group. She is offering a training October 27th from 8:30am-5pm at Iglesia Torre Fuerte Prescott Valley on how to run a legal clinic to help support folks with varying documentation statuses navigate through the legal process. This training is free and open to thecommunity and will include childcare, translation, and a meal.
This is a foundational training, so no prior legal experience necessary. We are, however, looking for future volunteers to help run clinics as well as people to join this coalition to build a long-lasting network of support.
